Steven WONG Weng Leong is currently the Chief Digital & Global Banking Strategist at China Construction Bank (CCB) Malaysia. Just prior to this, he was the Chief Operating & Financial Strategist (COO, CIO/CTO, CFO & Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer roles combined) and before that, the Chief Business Development Strategist. At CCB Malaysia, Mr Wong spearheads bank-wide business growth and provides strategic leadership for Global Banking & Markets and Wholesale & Retail Digital Banking (Cash Management, Retail Banking), which includes catalyzing FinTech initiatives in delivering product, technology and digital innovations for the Malaysian and ASEAN markets.

He is well regarded in the financial services industry as an all-rounder and go-to-individual, having held several senior executive leadership positions across various leading financial institutions over the last 27 years. He has held strategic leadership roles in the Front Office (FO), Middle Office (MO) and Back Office (BO) at Western Union, Alliance Financial Group, Maybank, Mayban Life Assurance, MIDF Amanah Investment Bank and Citi.

Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Western Union Malaysia while concurrently leading the region as the Regional Director for Malaysia and Brunei at Western Union Asia Pacific. At Western Union, Mr Wong provided senior leadership counsel for both business divisions – Global Money Transfer (Retail) and Global Payments (B2B), as well as overseeing the strategic development and market expansion of Western Union’s franchise, growth strategies and partnership development. He possesses a stellar track record in managing and delivering strategic initiatives, superior service and best-in-class innovative solutions. Mr Wong was instrumental in rolling out Western Union’s digital platforms (WU.com Web and WU Mobile app) and delivering competitive agent takeaways in the region, in addition to transforming and reviving Western Union in Malaysia.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr Nurhizam Safie is the Deputy Dean (Networking and Alumni) of the Faculty of Information Science & Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Before this position, he attached to the United Nations University (unu.edu), a United Nations academic arm, as a Research Fellow. His research and industrial consultancy focus on the following domain: Public Sector Enterprise Architecture, Cloud-based e-learning and Project Management.

He served on the national and international advisory panel, expert working group and technical committee, and some of the Malaysian ministries and agencies. In his 26 odd years of experience, he has worked in various technical and management positions such as IT service delivery manager, senior project manager and enterprise architect for public and private IT systems projects. He is the Executive Chairman for the Digital Transformation Strategic Organisation (DxSO), an NGO which promote the digital transformation in Malaysian society.

Nurhizam Safie received his PhD in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in 2010. Master of Information Technology from UKM in 1999, Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Anglia Ruskin University, in the United Kingdom in 2019 and a bachelor degree in 1997 from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

Ts. Saiful currently serves as the Head of IT – APAC, for ASCENT Fund Services, a Singapore-based, Global Independent Fund Administrator company. He is responsible for providing the technology, solutions, security, and support for all ASCENT Fund Services offices in Asia Pacific.

He was ranked as Top 75 Chief Information Officer (CIO75) for ASEAN, in 2021 by the International Data Group (IDG), as well as CIO50 ASEAN for the year 2019 and 2020. He was also listed as Top World CIO 200, by the Global CIO Forum, for the year 2021 and 2020, as a recognition to his achievement in the industry.

He brings with him a solid 21 years of experience in diverse industries such as Fund Management, Oil & Gas, Banking, as well as in the Economic Regulatory Body. He is a registered Professional Technologist (Ts.) under the Malaysian Act 768 which is governed by the Malaysia Board of Technologists. As an IT professional with an MBA, he has broad experience in IT Management, Strategic Planning, IT Security, Digital Transformation, Project Management, Risk Management and Business Continuity. He holds the ISACA’s CISM and CRISC certifications, PRINCE2 Project Management, SCRUM Master (Agile Project Management), ITIL Practitioner and Intermediate (v2 & v3), Microsoft’s MCSA, IATA’s Aviation Cyber Security and IBM’s Lotus Notes Specialist.

He is also actively participating in IT events and summits as a Speaker, Panelist or Moderator, both locally and cross borders, such as India, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates. This is his way of giving back to the industry by sharing his knowledge and experience.

Col Ts Sazali bin Sukardi is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Research, CyberSecurity Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia, Malaysia. Prior to joining CyberSecurity Malaysia, he had served the Malaysian Armed Forces for 22 years before retiring in 2009. Currently he is the Commander of 502 Regiment of the Territorial Army. His current position at CyberSecurity Malaysia deals with various matters pertaining to cyber security strategic research as well as exploration of new cyber security initiatives and policies.

He holds Master of Science in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London, Master of Arts in Defense Studies from King’s College, University of London, Post Graduate Diploma in System Analysis from Universiti Teknologi MARA, and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
